Right before we went to the Badlands, we encountered the Prairie Homestead. A real sod house that had been built by early pioneers. We went for the educational purposes. To our students, if you’re reading this- look forward to lots of pictures next time we teach Westward Expansion!
To enhance our teaching of Westward Expansion we decided to get some authentic costumes to help set the state. Here we are in the bonnet we bought. To our principal- is this reimbursable? It’s a teaching expense. 🙂
