I’ve never really been much of a chore person. And the chore that I’ve always despised? Dishes! Last year, living alone, I would let the dishes pile up all week and then grudginly clean them on Saturday because I had no plates or bowls left! Whenever Kyle came to visit he always found a stack of dishes piled high in the sink just waiting for his scrubbing power. I know, it really wasn’t fair…but that’s how much I hated doing dishes.
This year, I made a resolution, “I am going to do dishes this year.” The first week, I found myself saying, “Hey, this isn’t actually too bad if I do it on a daily basis.” But still, I was bothered. Pressing up against the sink scrubbind and rinsing the dishes clean I always got my clothes all wet. It seemed that water from the sink would purposefully jump out an attack me! Frustrated that dish completion meant that I would have to change my outfit for the day, I decided that action needed to be taken. An apron was ordered.
“What in the world?” Kyle said when it arrived and I spun around the kitchen modeling it for him.
“I know, it’s super cheesy,” I replied, “but because it’s so cheesy and silly it makes me laugh every time I put it on.”
“Well, if you’re smiling while you’re doing dishes, then go ahead I guess,” Kyle conceeded.
So now, I not only do dishes, I do them with a smile on my face.
Soooo cute!
I love your “dish washing outfit”. Where did you get it? I need some of those cute gloves. 🙂
I love it!!!! I wear an apron when I wash dishes too. 🙂 Mine isn’t nearly as cute, but it is monogrammed with my first initial. Plus, Steve has a matching one. Does that earn cuteness points?
With the apron you look more and more like Aunt Jan everyday. Now you just have to bake as well as her, which I am sure you will soon.
